Integrated Management System under the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 international standards
Asarel-Medet JSC was the first company in the Bulgarian mining industry to be awarded with an ISO 9001 quality management international standard certificate in 1999. It was granted the first ISO 14001 environmental protection certificate in the country on January 15, 2002 and became the first company within the highly hazardous industry which met the conditions to be certified under the OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety standard in 2003 when it also implemented an Integrated Management System according to the quality management, environment protection and occupational health and safety international standards.
The company was awarded an energy management certificate under the ISO 50001 international standard in 2018.
In 2020, a transition took place to the ISO 45001 occupational health and safety standard.

First Class Investor
Assarel Medet JSC is the first Bulgarian company which was awarded a First Class Investment Certificate by the Bulgarian Investment Agency in 2005 for its project for a large-scale modernization and extending the mine and concentrator life. The commissioned highly productive mining equipment, state-of-the-art flotation machines and automated control of the technological processes bring record-breaking annual production results for the industry. The certificate was presented by the Minister of European Affairs at that time, Meglena Kuneva, and the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency, Mr. Pavel Ezekiev.
