Asarel-Medet JSC was Awarded with Five Prizes by the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology

Asarel-Medet JSC was awarded with five prizes by the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology for Miner’s Day. Our company was acknowledged in the categories Environmental Protection and Corporate Social Responsibility among the big companies and was granted a special award by the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology for its active involvement in the donation initiative supporting the governmental efforts against COVID-19 spread. Two anniversary awards were bestowed as well: to Asarel-Medet JSC and Andrey Delchev, member of our company’s Supervisory Board. We were honored for our overall contribution to the mineral raw material industry in Bulgaria. Our subsidiary Asarel-Remont OOD was among the companies awarded in the Occupational Health and Safety category. The student at St. Ivan Rilski University of Mining and Geology Daniel Yanchev is this year’s holder of the scholarship named after Prof. Lachezar Tsotsorkov, PhD.  It is bestowed by Asarel Foundation to the most talented student at the  University of Mining and Geology every year. Daniel Yanchev studies Ore and Mineral Mining and its overall performance is Very Good 5,10.

Due to the COVID pandemic, the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology cancelled the traditional national Miner’s Day celebration this year. A prayer for health and wellbeing attended by a small circle of guests, including members of the  Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology Management Board, representatives of the  Scientific and Technical Council of Mining and Metallurgy and miners’ trade unions, was served at St. Nedelya Cathedral Church on August 18 when the Dormition of St. Ivan Rilski, patron of miners and all Bulgarians is honored. The plaques and honoray diplomas of the acknowledged companies will be bestowed at the first possible official event of the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology.
