The Golden Treasure of Panagyurishte Became Treasure of the Decade in the Wonders of Bulgaria

The Golden Treasure of Panagyurishte became Treasure of the Decade in the Wonders of Bulgaria ranking held by Standard newspaper. The ceremony took place on March 19 in Sofia and the award was bestowed by the Bulgarian European Commissioner Maria Gabriel to the Mayor of Panagyurishte, Nikola Belishki and Galya Kostova, Management Trustee of Asarel-Medet JSC.

Galya Kostova stated that she is proud to receive the award of Asarel-Medet JSC since the company has contributed intensely to popularize the Golden Treasure of Panagyurishte and its safeguarding. The award is in memoriam of Prof. Lachezar Tsotsorkov, PhD, who made one of the dreams cherished by the citizens of Panagyusishte come true in 2012 and built a special treasure hall at the town’s Museum of History. “The return of the Golden Treasure of Panagyurishte  to its home was the greatest miracle for the town”, she pointed out.

“The unique artifacts are in good hands now and we are proud of them. Thanks to the treasure’s home coming and the elaboration of its copy which is constantly kept at the museum, we witness an incredible increase of the tourist flow”, announced the Mayor,  Nikola Belishki. The town, its history, Oborishte area and mineral water are the other factors which attract our guests.
